History Of Badminton

A rally ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor.

    1. A match consists of the best of 3 games of 21 points.
Every time there is a serve – there is a point scored.
The side winning a rally adds a point to its score.
At 20 all, the side which gains a 2 point lead first, wins that game.
At 29 all, the side scoring the 30th point, wins that game.
The side winning a game serves first in the next game.
      Scoring in singles
At the beginning of the game (0-0) and when the server’s score is even, the server serves from the right service court. When the server’s score is odd, the server serves from the left service court.
If the server wins a rally, the server scores a point and then serves again from the alternate service court.
If the receiver wins a rally, the receiver scores a point and becomes the new server. They serve from the appropriate service court – left if their score is odd, and right if it is even.

      Doubles
A side has only one ‘set’.
The service passes consecutively to the players as shown in the diagram.
At the beginning of the game and when the score is even, the server serves from the right service court. When it is odd, the server serves from the left court.
If the serving side wins a rally, the serving side scores a point and the same server serves again from the alternate service court.
If the receiving side wins a rally, the receiving side scores a point. The receiving side becomes the new serving side.
The players do not change their respective service courts until they win a point when their side is serving.

    1. The Philippines joined the International Badminton Federation in 1950 and organized its first national group – the Philippine Badminton Association (PBA) in 1952. In 1949, Adriano Torres Jr. was the first national singles champion.

Badminton was not given much importance. Only in the early 80s, when would-be President Fidel V. Ramos (then Lt. General in the Philippines Armed Forces and President of the PBA) sent a select group of players to Fuzhou, Fujian, China, did the country have its first taste of standard international training. This kind of exchange enabled these players to start key training programs themselves. Shortly after that, a badminton team represented the Philippines in the Southeast Asian Games for the first time, in 1981, and at the Thomas Cup in 1984.

    1. According to NurtiStrategy, a 155-pound individual will burn approximately 317 calories per hour while playing a moderately vigorous game of badminton.Playing badminton frequently can help to increase your level of physical fitness: playing the game improves coordination, flexibility and balance because of the agility that's required to aim correctly and move to hit the birdie when it comes to your side of the court. The actions required to play badminton also help to exercise the gluteus maximus, abdominal and dorsal muscles, and to reinforce the joints. The game can help to improve endurance, as it is a form of aerobic exercise. You'll be moving quickly on the court, which will get your heart rate up and help you to burn calories.

    1. 1st thing you need to learn is How to serve (Learn both forehand and backhand serve). Ofcourse you need daily practise of atleast 50 service practise per day.
Learing different strokes like smash, toss, drop (forehand, aroud and backhand)..This will consume lil time you need like 1month or so to master it…
As a beginner first try to hit the shuttle with racquet upper motion without allowing it to fall…Alternative is to tie a shuttle in rope and try to hit it…Do this at home or in free time…
workouts to improve your movement speed and stamina…
After you learn this daily try to play with player higher than your level..You will slowly progress and will master how to handle the game.
